French fries are a favourite amongst all ages. You can pair them with burgers, pizzas, steak, or any food item of your choice and they fit perfectly fine on every single platter.

They are pretty much considered a top-tier snack on their own as well. While French fries enjoy a raging fan base, it doesn't require long for it to fall off the limelight.

There's nothing quite as disappointing as leftover fries that have turned soggy overnight. But there are tricks of the culinary trade that can breathe new life into these dull spuds.

No matter what, do not use a microwave. If you do, you are all but guaranteed to still get soggy fries.

With these simple techniques, you can say enjoy your fries again and bite into the crispy delights.

Oven roast

Oven-roasting fries to revitalise them is exactly as it sounds: Crank your oven to 220 degrees Celsius, spread the fries out on a baking sheet, and let them get crispy.

You can also put them on a layer of crinkled foil before roasting (or a cooling rack) so that they crisp on all sides.

Air fry

If you have an air fryer, this method is quick and convenient. Preheat your air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the soggy fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.

Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping. The hot air circulating the fries will help revive their crispness without the need for additional oil.

Double-fry

This is another classic technique with which you can make your soggy fries crispy again. Start by frying the soggy French fries in the hot oil for about 3 to 4 minutes until they are heated nicely and turn slightly golden.

Remove them from the oil and place them on the paper towel so that they can absorb the extra oil.

For the second time, fry the fries in hot oil until they are crispy and golden brown. The double-frying method enables the fries to become crispy while maintaining a soft interior.
