The Mother City’ premier event which ushers in the holy month of Ramadaan is back next month.
The SPAR Cape Town Ramadaan and Lifestyle Expo has become a much-loved feature in the hearts and minds of Capetonians since 2010. Highlighting the universal principles of Ramadaan, the Expo has evolved to showcase key lifestyle elements and celebrate the diversity of South Africa’s cultural mosaic.
This year’s event takes place over the weekend of February 14 to 16 at the Oude Molen Technical High School in Pinelands. Itpromises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring more than 100 exhibitors under one roof, patrons can expect to discover premium-quality products at affordable prices, ranging from exotic foods to exquisite garments, home décor, and accessories.
Strategically hosted in the lead-up to Ramadaan, the Expo aligns with a period of heightened spirituality for Muslims, emphasising fasting, charity, and thoughtful spending. It is a time when families prepare for the holy month by indulging in unique culinary delights and enhancing their homes with meaningful improvements.
From its humble beginnings at the Cape Town Market in Epping to venues like the Civic Hall in Athlone, the Castle of Good Hope, and the CTICC, the Expo has grown exponentially. Now, at the Oude Molen Technical High School in Pinelands, it continues to provide a platform for established businesses, budding entrepreneurs, and informal traders to showcase their offerings while celebrating the rich Muslim culture woven into Cape Town’s vibrant tapestry.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse array of vendors, food trucks, and entertainment, offering a sensory feast of tastes, sights, and sounds inspired by the unique artisanship and creativity found only at the southern tip of Africa.
