Nourish to Flourish (N2F), which is committed to alleviating hunger and malnutrition, marked a significant milestone on Friday, by serving 75 000 meals since its inception in October last year.

The commemorative event was held by the Chinmaya Mission South Africa (CMSA) on Human Rights Day, reflecting the organisation's commitment to fighting hunger and uplifting the most vulnerable in society.

The day began with N2F volunteers delivering meals to organisations such as Warming The Hearts Through Feeding (Bluff) and Payless Shelters (South Beach). The selfless efforts of the team ensured that the most vulnerable were not forgotten on this day of reflection.

Pujya Swami Abhedananda, the spiritual head of Chinmaya Mission South Africa.

Pujya Swami Abhedananda, the spiritual head of the movement, emphasised the importance of serving others and celebrating the innate divinity within each individual, while Pavan Maharaj, the N2F Project Manager and CMSA Trustee, added that their journey was made possible by the generosity of donors and the dedication of its volunteers.

"Together, we are not just feeding bodies; we are nourishing souls and restoring dignity," said Maharaj.

N2F currently feeds 16 schools and 19 organisations daily.

As the day concluded, the message was clear: through unity and unwavering compassion, hunger can be alleviated, and hope can flourish.

The CMSA is based at the Chinmaya Annapoorna at the Rajput Hall in Chatsworth.
