Someone is holding a winning R1 million Daily Lotto ticket from Friday's draw. Could it be you?

The winner, from the Northern Cape, purchased the ticket in Okiep with a modest R15 wager and manually-selected numbers.

This is one of several R1 million jackpots won throughout March as Ithuba, the operator of the National Lottery, celebrates the sixth anniversary of the Daily Lotto game.

Since its launch in March 2019, Daily Lotto has paid out an impressive R2 590 418 665 to lucky South African winners.

Ithuba's CEO, Charmaine Mabuza, said by launching the Daily Lotto, the operator demonstrated innovation and a thorough understanding of the South African market.

“The success of Daily Lotto highlights the game’s popularity and the significant demand for an affordable, daily chance to win life-changing jackpots,” Mabuza said.

“What makes the Daily Lotto unique is that the jackpot prize division doesn’t roll over if not won. It rolls down to the next prize divisions, living up to its promise of making 'everyday a pay-day'. This game was designed with the South African market in mind, and it continues to resonate with participants.”

All winners have 365 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize. Once a valid claim is submitted, winnings are paid out within 72 hours. Players can check their tickets at any participating retail store or view the results on the National Lottery website and official social media channels.

For winners of R50 000 and above, Ithuba offers trauma counselling and financial advice to help manage their winnings responsibly. All National Lottery winnings are tax-free.

Players must be 18 years or older.
