Proudly South African is back in the fashion scene for another edition of Local Fashion Police.

Now in its fourth year, Local Fashion Police is a competition that seeks to promote South African fashion by encouraging people to show off their style in South African designers.

This year, the theme takes a daring turn, drawing inspiration from investigative storytelling and injecting a thrilling new narrative into the vibrant pulse of South Africa’s fashion landscape.

Orapeleng Modutle of OM Style Avenue, Jessica Jane Molebatsi of Molebatsi, House of Ole by Ole Ledimo and Imprint ZA’s Mzukisi Mbane have been named as this year’s judges to hunt down South Africa’s most stylish individuals.

The competition gives ordinary people a chance to be in the spotlight and crowns four winners instead of one.

“We’re thrilled to kick off the fourth instalment of this impactful initiative, the brainchild of our organisation to keep pushing boundaries and tackle our localisation agenda using different platforms,” said the  chief marketing officer of Proudly SA, Happy MaKhumalo Ngidi.

“At Proudly SA, we take pride in creating platforms that empower each sector to flourish, offering a unique opportunity for direct engagement between brands and their consumers.

“The Local Fashion Police campaign doesn’t just spotlight fashion; it also holds consumers accountable on how they spend their rand, encouraging them to consciously choose locally made garments in their everyday lives.”

To enter the competition, consumers are encouraged to showcase their style by posting images and videos of themselves wearing locally designed clothes and most importantly, showcasing the country of origin from which the garment was bought.

Winners will receive bespoke clothing by a South African designer valued at R40 000.
