Get ready to groove into the final quarter of 2024 with DJ Edit SA’s, real name Kennedy Mudzuli, latest masterpiece, “I Am”".

The Tshwane-based hitmaker’s new EP promises to keep dance floors ablaze with its infectious beats and inspiring message of love, hope, and perseverance.

“I Am” is a deeply personal project, with DJ Edit SA pouring his heart and creativity into every track.

“This EP is me laying it all out there,” he reveals.

The title track, an emotional instrumental, is a testament to his artistic growth.

The EP features collaborations with top talent from across South Africa. From his Venda, Limpopo birthplace, DJ Edit SA roped in deep-house queen Pushie Da Tall on “Zwivhuya”, the addictive tune that also pays tribute to his Mukwevho clan name.

In Mpumalanga, DJ Edit SA collaborated with his “brother for life” DJ Skhu on the catchy single, “Drum Roll”. The founder of Skhu Music Productions also mixed and mastered all songs on the EP.

Then he went to the Eastern Cape, where he teamed up with Cresta X Music on the opening track, “Ndithanda Wena”. While in the same province, he reached out to Thabiso Vocalist, and their union resulted in the dance floor hit “Ndomeleze”.

Then there is the emotional “I Am”. The DJ Edit SA Music record label founder said of the title track to the EP: “This song is full of emotions. It has no vocals, but says a lot without saying anything; it’s subject to the imagination and feeling of a listener at that particular moment.”

“Sroba” is also destined to blast the speakers and dance floors and burn the charts this summer. “The title came out of nowhere during a studio session, in reference to some of the sound elements that are on the song,” DJ Edit SA said.

DJ Edit SA’s musical journey began in Venda, Limpopo, where he was known for his impressive playlists. A late bloomer, he started his DJ career while pursuing a journalism career in Gauteng, eventually venturing into production.

As founder of DJ Edit SA Music, he’s nurtured upcoming talent and built an impressive catalogue.

A family man and born-again Christian, DJ Edit SA balances his professional career and music passion.

That passion saw him venturing into production, and along the way, he founded DJ Edit SA Music, which has several upcoming musicians in its books. As the first citizen of his record label, he already has an impressive catalogue of music behind his fast-growing name.

“The title of the EP - ‘I Am’ - is me basically laying it all out there, pouring my heart and creativity out,” he said.

Pushie Da Tall, considered one of the best songwriters and vocalists in the far-northern part of SA, expressed her delight in working with DJ Edit SA again. They last released a song together two years ago.

She said she was hoping their new song, “Zwivhuya”, would reach greater heights.

“Similarly, I hope DJ Edit SA achieves unmatched success with the new EP. He is one of the most hard working and consistent producers and deserves everything of the best,” she added.

“I Am” drops on October 11, distributed by Virgin Music Group SA.
