The latest performance figures for retirement fund portfolios monitored by Alexander Forbes for May show the BOE Investors Fund taking the lead with a return of 37,9 percent for the last 12 months. Syfrets is in second place with a return of 20,5 percent and a second BOE portfolio is third with 19,9 percent.
Out of the 29 funds in the survey, Southern Stable Growth was 29th with 7,5 percent for the full year, Allan Gray was ranked 28th with a 8,2 percent return and Commercial Union 27th with an 8,9 percent return. Southern Life has restructured its portfolios and Southern Stable Growth has taken on the history of Southern Managegrowth.
The average performance of funds in this survey for the 12-month period ending May was 15 percent, against 5,4 percent for the JSE all-share and 22,1 percent for the JSE all-bond indices.
