Durban businessman Ferrel Govender was dealt another blow when the Durban High Court denied him bail.
The ruling in his bail appeal application was delivered on Thursday morning.
Govender, 41, has been charged with the murder of Shailen Singh.
The 32-year-old was shot multiple times in a parking lot in uMhlanga on December 29, 2024.
Ferrel and his brother Darren, 35, are charged with the pre-meditated murder of Singh.
According to the State Singh was killed because he was having an affair with Ferrel's girlfriend.
Ferrel handed himself over to police on January 1, 2025.
He has been incarcerated since.
His brother Darren Govender, 35, also a businessman was released on R200,000 bail in February.
The State in an explosive affidavit said they had a strong prima facie case against the accused, with CCTV footage placing them at the scene of the crime.
