June 2011 marks the 150th anniversary of unification of Italy and Fiat Auto SA is painting the town red , white and green to celebrate!
Of course there has to be a commemorative model, and here it is - the Fiat 500 150th Limited Edition, the distillation of 150 years of Italian spirit. Only 28 will be made, available in a choice of (why are we not surprised?) red, white or green, each with a commemorative badge on the B pillar, a carpet set with special logos and a unique 150th Limited Edition key ring.
The 150th Limited Edition also comes with special 15” sport alloy rims, body colour trim on the bumper inserts and window surrounds, a body-colour Rear spoiler, sporty graphics on the instrument cluster and grey/black cloth interior with special foamed padding
It has the same 74kW/131Nm, 1.4-litre 16-velve engine and six-speed manual gearbox as its Lounge stablemate, taking it from 0-100 in 10.5 sec and on to 182km/h - and should return the same combined fuel consumption of 6.1 litres./100km.
Traction control is standard, as are stability control, hill hold, antilock braking, hazard light activation under emergency braking, seven airbags including a driver's kneebag - and five EuroNCAP crash-test stars.
Party central includes a radio/CD/MP3, USB port, Blue&Me hands-free system with voice control and a leather steering wheel (plus matching leather gearknob) with integrated audio/telephone controls.
