Tyla has managed to be the centre of attention when it comes to both music and fashion.

Whether she’s setting trends on stage or turning heads in designer fits, she’s proving that style is in her DNA. And her latest Chanel moment is a total slay.

Tyla has been serving high fashion lately, and the receipts are undeniable. From her sultry, sparkling LaQuan Smith number at the Grammys to her effortlessly cool YSL look at Milan Fashion Week, she’s been showing up and showing out.

The singer celebrated her British "Vogue" cover debut, a historic moment, as she’s the first South African artist to grace the magazine’s cover. Days later, she levelled up yet again, stepping into her first-ever Chanel show on March 11, proving she’s a front-row fixture in the making.

For her Chanel runway debut, Tyla gave the classic Chanel skirt suit a fresh, body-hugging twist, paying homage to the fashion house’s legacy while keeping it modern and, of course, undeniably Tyla.

She wore a strapless bustier with micro-mini bottoms, a play on the iconic tweed set, complete with exposed stitching and statement buttons reminiscent of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs from the ’90s.

Instead of the traditional full-length suit coat, she opted for a cropped bolero jacket draped over her shoulders, adding an air of effortless cool.

The finishing touches included an east-west Chanel purse, almond-toe slingbacks, chunky gold jewellery, and a jagged fringe haircut that screamed, “I am that sophisticated ghel!" (girl).

Speaking to "Vogue" magazine, Tyla shared: “These days I’m obsessed with high fashion mixed with street fashion.”

And lately, she admits she’s been deep in her Chanel era. Her latest purchase is a rare and unique gem from the label.

“My Chanel ankle monitor bag,” she revealed, a rare find from the Spring 2008 collection.

To add to the fashion power move, she was seen seated next to "Vogue" editor Anna Wintour, looking perfectly at ease next to one of the most influential figures in fashion.

Originally designed by Coco Chanel in the 1920s, the suit was a game-changer for women’s fashion, offering a blend of elegance and practicality at a time when restrictive clothing was still the norm.

Then came Karl Lagerfeld in the ’80s and ’90s, who took the suit to new heights, making it sexier, bolder, and a favourite of supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Claudia Schiffer.

Over the years, the Chanel suit has remained a symbol of power, luxury, and timeless style. It’s been reinvented by countless designers and worn by everyone from royalty to rock stars.

Tyla’s modern take on the classic proves that this suit isn’t going anywhere; it’s just evolving with the times.

While the Barbiecore trend may have put pink back in the spotlight, it has always been a staple for bold fashion statements. According to Tyla, she’ll be making sure pink remains a go-to colour in style, Barbie or not.
