South African rapper and songwriter Maglera Doe Boy is breaking into the global market as he recently performed and curated a playlist for the luxury South African brand MaXhosa Africa for Paris Fashion Week.
The “Nja’ka” hitmaker took to social media to express his gratitude for performing and curating the music set for the entire event.
“PARIS FASHION WEEK 2025. Thank you, @maxhosa, for the opportunity. I was given the taste of performing my music. I also curated the music for the whole show. Big love to my family from #HennessySA and @Hennessy for hosting us so well.” he captioned his Instagram post.
The rapper was not the only South African celebrity who graced France; Amapiano DJ and songwriter, Kabza De Small, and award-winning rapper and actress, Boity Thulo, were also there.
MaXhosa Africa is a fashion brand that was founded by Laduma Ngxokolo, and for Paris Fashion Week 2025, they were showcasing their autumn/winter 2025 collection titled “Umbulelo”.
It is undeniable that the brand is reaching international heights and solidifying its global influence.
MaXhosa Africa took to Instagram to explain that the collection is aimed to redefine how African fashion is viewed globally.
“MAXHONAISSANCE: A @parisfashionweek reveal of our current collection that aimed to redefine the perception of premium African fashion. ‘For this collection, we wanted to define what luxury means to us as a brand - beyond the preconceived ideas of colonial representation of the continent.
“At MaXhosa Africa, we believe luxury is as much about refinement and craftsmanship as it is about an individual representation of culture that is imbued with a spiritual legacy and a sense of individuality that makes it at once modern and historic.”
The luxury fashion brand, however, showcased only 40 percent of the collection in Paris, and the continuation of the collection will be showcased in Johannesburg at the brand’s event, MXS Festival, on March 15 at The Toadbury Hall Hotel in Lanseria.
