As we are a few months away from the 73rd Miss Universe 2024 pageant, Miss SA, Mia le Roux is going to represent South Africa in Mexico at the prestigious and glamorous event.

Demi-Leigh Tebow, Miss South Africa and Miss Universe 2017, shared a special message for our current reigning Miss SA on a video posted by the Miss Universe South Africa account on Instagram.

"Hallo, liefste Mia. Demi hierso, I just wanted to send you a quick message. Just to say all the best. We are rooting for you, we are praying for you. You are such a beautiful woman and you have already touched so many hearts, so many lives.

“Just continue to be exactly who you were created to be. Walk in the purpose that has been specifically designed for your life, Mia.

“And I know that it will inspire people all around the world. I know that you will carry the South African flag with so much pride. We are honoured to have you as our representative. All the best,” she said.

A few instagram users also commented showing supporting for Le Roux ahead of her Miss Universe journey.

Instagram user @Loganhighar commented, “Well said Demi-Leigh Tebow. It is really such an honour having this brave woman representing us. Her journey is breaking boundaries.”

Another instagram user @fabkaybe commented, “Demi-Leigh Tebow has always been my fave. Mia, South Africa is blessed to have you as our queen, advocate, representative and inspiration. Lief vir jou.”

Le Roux, who changed the narrative about beauty pageants when she entered the Miss SA 2024 beauty pageant, inspired so many people who live with disabilities across the country.

Not only is she the first deaf Miss SA, but she is also the first contestant of Miss Universe 2024 who is deaf.

Her story continues to inspire so many people, and her winning the title of Miss SA, showed that even if you are differently-abled, you can still chase your dreams as your disability does not define you.

Miss Universe 2024, Sheynnis Palacios will be crowning her successor on November 16, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
