But when it comes to domestic bliss, the TV presenter is rather old-fashioned, it seems.
Now she is facing a backlash after telling women in a newspaper interview that they must keep their men happy in bed. The 47-year-old mother of three also said she always makes sure she wears matching underwear to please her husband.
McCall, who had been married to Matthew Robertson, 45, for 15 years, said: “You must keep your husband satisfied in the bedroom department. Even if you’re absolutely exhausted. Otherwise he will go somewhere else.”
But her comments provoked a flood of criticisms on Twitter, accusing her of making sexist and degrading comments.
On Monday McCall used her website to clarify her views. She wrote: “I do not submit to my husband, nor does he submit to me. Has he ever coerced or pressured me? NO!!! But have I ever started feeling tired and finished feeling very happy? Yes!!”
