Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk’s daughter, recently dismissed her father’s claims that her transition was influenced by what he has referred to as the “woke mind virus.”

Wilson transitioned five years ago, after coming out as transgender at the age of 16.

She legally changed her name to reflect her new identity and took her mother’s last name, declaring that she no longer wished “to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”

In an interview with Teen Vogue, she stated that her decision to transition was personal and deeply considered, contrary to her father’s assertions that external political ideologies had played a role.

Wilson also refuted Musk’s claim that he had been “tricked into signing documents” regarding her transition, saying that he was well aware of her choices and had simply refused to engage with or support her through the process.

She further criticised Musk’s views on wealth and privilege, saying that witnessing the “wealth gap” in Los Angeles influenced her decision to move to Japan.

“There is no world in which people should be owning multiple private planes, private islands, private whatever, while other people are sleeping on the street,” she told Teen Vogue.

She added that her father’s detachment from social realities had reinforced her desire to distance herself from him.

Calling Musk a “pathetic man-child,” Wilson said it was “annoying” to be associated with the tech billionaire and confirmed that the two have not spoken since 2020.

He has come under scrutiny for his inflammatory remarks about the transgender community.

In recent social media posts, he falsely suggested that trans people are more prone to violence, linking reports of vandalism on Teslas to the transgender community.

“The probability of a trans person being violent appears to be vastly higher than non-trans. Hormone injections cause extreme emotional volatility,” Musk posted on X.

These claims have been widely debunked by experts who emphasise that there is no credible evidence to support such assertions.

Wilson, whose mother is Musk’s first wife, Justine Wilson, has relocated to Tokyo to study languages.
