South African music icon Watershed will mark a major milestone as the group bring their 25th-anniversary celebrations to the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts on Sunday, 16 March 2025.

With a career spanning a quarter of a century, filled with chart-topping hits, multi-platinum albums, and international recognition, Watershed’s performance promises to be a momentous evening of music, nostalgia, and celebration.

Since their breakout success with the smash hit Indigo Girl in 2000, Watershed has become one of South Africa’s most beloved bands, known for their signature acoustic rock sound and heartfelt lyrics.

Over the years, they have earned two South African Music Awards (SAMAs) for Best Pop Album, numerous nominations, and a dedicated fanbase that has supported them through every chapter of their journey.

As they celebrate this landmark 25-year milestone, the band continues to evolve while staying true to the sound that has defined generations.

Reflecting on their upcoming Kirstenbosch performance, Watershed frontman Craig Hinds said, “Reaching 25 years as a band is something truly special. It’s been an incredible journey of music, memories, and connection with our fans. We’ve poured our hearts into every song, every album, and every performance, and this show will be no different.

"Kirstenbosch is one of our favourite venues, and this concert will be a true celebration of our music and the incredible support we’ve received over the years. Our fans will expect all the favourites, some surprises, and an evening that will stay with you long after the last note fades.”

The band’s Kirstenbosch set will feature a mix of their timeless classics, new music from their upcoming anniversary album, and a few unexpected moments to commemorate their 25-year legacy.

Sarah Struys, events and tourism manager at Kirstenbosch, expressed excitement about hosting Watershed’s anniversary show. “Watershed’s music has been the soundtrack to so many lives over the past 25 years.

"Their ability to craft songs that resonate so deeply is what makes them such a cherished part of South Africa’s musical landscape. We are thrilled to welcome them back to Kirstenbosch for what promises to be an extraordinary celebration of their legacy.”
