Multi-award-winning South African actress Dawn Thandeka King has, over the years has played various roles, captivating viewers.
A talented actress that continues to be booked and busy, she is currently a part of the cast of BET Africa daily drama “Queendom”.
On “Queendom”, King portrays Queen Mandlovu Khahlamba, a strong woman, who is influential in her community.
Throughout her career, King has been drawn to powerful characters that challenge her and this one is no different.
“I tap into her strength as a woman, she’s a queen, she’s a very strong willed woman. I think that’s why OwaManzi married her. She’s the strength that he needs and I also tap into her love for family and her love for her son.
“For her son, she will do everything and anything. I tap into that because those are strengths I relate to and I utilise that to bring her life.”
“Queendom” in September returned to viewers screens much to their delight after going off air due to production and cast not being paid.
King along with the rest of the cast are very excited to be back.
“We don't even want to tell you or show you what happened, because what's about to happen is something you never thought,” said King.
Actress Linda Mtoba who portrays lead character Ntandokayise Mthombeni described the next season as “amazing”.
