Young South African talent continues to make strides globally as Tyla, Kairo Forbes and Biko’s Manna are among the nominees for this year’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
Nickelodeon has announced the 2024 nominees for its annual slime filled Kids Choice Awards.
The nominees include over 50 first time nominees from across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more.
The Grammy and BET award winner, Tyla has also scored herself a nomination in the Kids Choice Awards under the Favourite Global Music Star category.
Rising star and influencer, Kairo Forbes, daughter of the late Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and DJ Zinhle has also bagged a nomination for the Favourite African Kidfluencer category.
The 8-year-old has also won the award for Social Media Kid Influencer of the Year at the South African Social Media awards in 2023.
Other nominees under the Favourite African Kidfluencer category include social media sensation South African kidfluencers, Biko’s Manna, a musical trio that consists of three siblings; Biko(17), Manna(14) and Mfundo(9).
They are known globally from appearing and performing America’s Got Talent Show this year and they also got recognition from the Jennifer Hudson Show in 2023 while touring the US.

This year’s awards hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke), will premiere from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom on Wednesday, 2024, July 17 at 3pm on NickToons channel 305 on DSTV.
