FOR the past four years, multi-talented musician Mel Botes, has tantalized audiences across the country with his critically acclaimed show Crazy Diamond – A Tribute to Pink Floyd. He followed this with David’s Confession – About Time, plus Chapter II an original work featuring other musicians.
Guitarist Botes’ next chapter in his series of musical productions is an unplugged Tribute to Dire Straits.
Featuring the same pin- point accuracy in his playing, the same band and the same delightful Botes touch, this show promises everything audiences have come to expect from the six string player.
Botes and his band will work their way through Mark Knopfler’s classic hit songs such as Money for Nothing, Walk of Life, the memorable Calling Elvis, Telegraph Road and P rivate Investigations.
No Dire Straits retrospective would be complete without Romeo and Juliet and the haunting Brothers in Arms– so expect a complete medley of all the Knopfler faves.
To add to this compilation of box office hits Botes has thrown in selection of other lesser known Straits tunes, such as The Man’s Too Strong and some of Knopfler’s best solo tunes including Darling Pretty and Sands of Nevada.
Hear this acoustic version featuring musicians from the Storm Produktionz stable at Die Boer theatre restaurant in Durbanville on Sunday February 15 at 1.30pm.
