Business Report erroneously reported on Monday, March 11, 2024 that Takatso had approached the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) for funding in the article, Takatso deal goes begging after Gordhan bows out.
The article stated: “The Takatso Consortium majority stake acquisition of the South African Airways (SAA) airline has been dead in the water since the strategic partner could not secure funding from the Public Investment Corporation ( [PIC) or guarantees from Government to keep the airline afloat, government aviation sources said.”
That sentence has subsequently been removed from the article.
The Takatso Consortium said that it had not approached the PIC for funding. We apologise for the error.
